Course Providers > Frontline Training
Frontline Training has a wealth of experience in community regeneration projects from helping people getting back into training and work and setting up community projects, through to community economic and environmental consultation projects and helping people to set up their own small businesses and social enterprises. Frontline Training was set up in 1998 by Shani Lee.
Staff have experience in securing UK and European funding, setting up new projects, designing projects in consultation with individuals, groups and communities, and working with excluded groups including ex-offenders, women, ethnic minorities and disabled people. We can provide Basic Skills and ESOL support and computer support. We provide mentoring for voluntary sector managers and work as an independent evaluator on innovative projects like The Parenting Fund.
We have our own digital media resource centre, and working with new media is increasingly integrated into all our projects. A growing area of expertise is designing community websites for social interaction and participation. We're a participant on an exciting new project, NLab, a collaboration between writers and cultural businesses run by De Montfort University. NLab exposes participants to the latest new media developments in publishing and broadcasting; blogging, social software and online communities; games; and tourism and heritage. We have an excellent mentor, Sue Thomas, Professor of New Media at De Montfort University, to help us develop our ideas and experience in this area. Frontline Training was recently recognised as an Investor in People. The company was highly commended for its commitment to training and development, the opportunities it offered for on and off the job training; the effective application of learning in the workplace and the involvement of staff in the business planning process. Staff rated highly the leadership and open culture of the organisation.
We're frequently involved in diverse projects, especially community regeneration and cultural industries. We're always interested in hearing from suitably experienced freelance people who would like to work with us. If you think that you would like to contribute to the things we do, and you'd like to talk more about opportunities with Frontline Training please forward a copy of your cv with a covering letter.
